Margaret Fulton is one of Australia’s leading and best-loved cookery experts. The matriarch of Australian cooking, she has been credited with changing the way Australians eat. Her original The Margaret Fulton Cookbook, first published in 1968 (with a Revised Edition released in April 2010), sold over 1.5 million copies and taught generations of Australian families how to cook and entertain. Margaret has been nominated by the National Trust as an Australian Living National Treasure and, in 2009, she was named by a Sydney Morning Herald panel as one of the 25 Australians who has most changed the nation.
Margaret’s passion for cooking has passed down through the Fulton family. Her daughter, Suzanne Gibbs, is also one of Australia’s leading food writers. Suzanne is a graduate of the prestigious Le Cordon Bleu cookery school, has published 12 cookbooks and is the Food Editor of BBC Australian Good Food magazine.
Margaret’s two granddaughters similarly share the family’s love affair with food. Kate Gibbs is a food journalist and cookbook author. She writes for The Sydney Morning Herald's Good Living, is a contributor to the pending The Foodies Guide to Sydney 2011, and has written for Australian Gourmet Traveller magazine. She co-authored her first cookbook The Thrifty Kitchen with Suzanne, and is now working on her second cookbook.
Louise Fulton Keats is also a graduate of Le Cordon Bleu and is presently working with Margaret in the development of an exciting new Margaret Fulton Christmas food range which will be sold exclusively at Coles later this year. Louise is also currently writing her first cookbook for children. She has a keen interest in child nutrition and helping children to develop a sophisticated palate and a love of food from an early age.
